Hello Darling.

Welcome to my blog. I’m so glad you’re here.

Bling Day!

Bling Day!

Oh my gosh, I am engaged and I still can't get over it. Does this magical feeling ever go away, because I really hope it doesn't.

Mike Runk, my fiancé. I met Mike twelve years ago (crazy, I know) at the White Marlin Open fishing tournament in Ocean City, MD. I was babysitting my cousin and my uncle’s boat was in the fishing tournament. It just so happened that Mike’s dad was fishing on my uncle’s boat. One night during weigh-ins Mike came with his mom down to the boat and there I was sitting in the captains chair when he came walking up. Since that day I think he pretty much knew I was going to be his wife, but I wasn't too sure about that. I can say that I am so lucky that he has never given up on me no matter what we have been through. We dated on and off for years but always found our way back to one another. Like any relationship we have our highs and our lows, but we wouldn't be where or who we are without them.

I will skip all the mushy stuff and get right to BLING DAY!!!!

Saturday, July 1, 2017.

I had spent the week at the beach with my family and was more than excited to see my favorite guy. He got to the beach Friday evening and my whole family started trickling in behind him. Little did I know why, but it was great. That night they all went go karting but I stayed behind. On Saturday morning we got up and were planning our day! I thought I would just spend the day at the pool, but the clouds had other plans for me. We called my family and told them to come over to hang out. Before they got there as I was getting dressed I tried on this adorable white dress that I had gotten during my vacation and one of many shopping outing. I was really just curious to see if it fit and if Mike liked it. I jokingly said to him, "Do you like this?? Doesn't it make my butt look big?!" He gave me a look and said, "No, take it off." Gesh he woke up on the wrong side of the bed!!! I proceeded to take it off and throw on shorts and a t-shirt and was on my way. When my family arrived, my brother’s friend Andrew showed up wearing an eagle shirt and I was SO excited. I immediately went upstairs and changed into my matching shirt! When I came back downstairs Mike was less than thrilled, I bet he wished at the moment that he never told me to take off that adorable white dress I had on. That will teach him!! Just kidding. As he tried to persuade me I could not wear that shirt in public or to the restaurant for lunch, I rolled my eyes and told him too bad, I was wearing that shirt and I didn't care what anyone said. After I won the battle of what I was wearing we left for lunch.

Everyone decided we were going to the Reel Inn, the restaurant that sits above the dock where Mike and I met. Little did I know there was a reason we were going there. My thoughts on the ride over. Absolutely nothing, I was excited to have my whole family and his family together to have fun for the weekend. Once we made it to the restaurant he started to get a little nervous, but I really didn’t notice. I said to him, "Can we please get a picture on the dock together since we are already here?!" He said yes, and after a couple minutes we walked down the pier to our spot! Once we were on the dock I saw more of my family members had arrived and was so excited to see them, still not putting any of these little puzzle pieces together!! My sister took our picture, and as I was going to walk away, Mike said to my brothers girlfriend, “Okay Keriann, now its your turn.” Honestly I thought he meant her turn to get a picture with him. I really think I need to start paying more attention to what’s going on. She walked over and pulled a shiny red box out of her purse and I just started to cry and in my head I was thinking, oh my gosh is this really happening?!! By the time I looked back at Mike he was getting down on one knee and my world actually stopped and stood still, in the moment it was just me and him, I was ugly crying, he was shaking. He said, “ Will you marry me?” I think I said, “YES” way before be could even finish asking me. I turned around and my whole family was cheering for us. There will never be a feeling quiet like hearing him ask me to be his wife. I am beyond excited that I got the man of my dreams, and that I am finally getting #runkedup.
