Hello Darling.

Banana Bread

Banana Bread

I have been living in my house now for almost three months and I have yet to bake/cook anything.   I am lucky enough to have a guy that likes making dinner and makes sure I eat. THANKFUL for him, but anyway the reason for this post. My first attempt at baking in our oven. (I kid you not as I'm sitting here writing this with my feet up on the couch Mike walks over with his best bite of steak on a fork and hands it to me). Alright back to the banana bread. I am an avid Pinterest user as I'm sure most of you would also plead guilty, and if you don't I know you're lying. We have had bananas slowing getting more and more ripe in our fruit bowl. Honestly I wanted to get them solely for banana bread and my chance finally arrived. So I got onto Pinterest and searched for best banana bread recipes- obviously.

This is the one I decided to go with!

Step 1. Preheat Oven

Step 2. Sift flour, salt and baking powder

Step 3. Mix brown sugar and butter together until the sugar is completely dissolved

Step 4. Add in beaten egg (provided by The Mundorf Family farm Sunday's Well @bitmore ) and vanilla extract, blend together on a low setting

Step 5. Add mashed banana (if you are queasy, I don't recommend) and flower to the above mixture and beat for 30 seconds ***I decided to add my own last minute ingredient- a spoonful of sour cream! (we will see how it tastes)

Step 6. I took this step quite literally!! Accidentally but.... Okay Step 6. Pour mixture into buttered 4x8 loaf baking pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until skewer comes out clean

Step 7. Let cool on a rack before removing. (eye roll) mine looked really pretty until I took it out to let it cool and it fell and sunk in a little

Now we wait, I don't even think its cooked all the way. If we are being honest I was getting sick of checking on it to see if it was cooked and resetting the timer. Maybe one day I will master the banana bread like my mom has, or I will drive the 20 minutes to her house and get it instead. I don't think Mike would mind that either because he said "Why don't you just make the stuff and stop documenting every move you make?" My response, "I need this for our blog, now take my picture." His reply "Oh great Henry you hear that? Now we have a blog." For those of you that don't know me and might be reading this, Henry is our dog. He probably never wants me to bake again considering the mess I was creating in our kitchen. But my hopes are high that I will soon be a baker.
