Mudroom Makeover

Mudroom Makeover

All I can start out by saying is, have faith. When it came to this little room attached to our house, I knew it had a lot of potential, but at one point I know the words, “Lets just knock it down” came out of my mouth. We have learned after buying a house that there is ALWAYS a project! I enjoy them, my husband not so much. I don’t blame him because he is usually doing most of the labor. Our Mudroom. This room as been through many stages, mostly not so cute.

When we first started the renovations on our house this room wasn’t on the top of the list, we did have to move the door closer to the front windows to make more room in our kitchen and after that it was on the back burner. The room had windows going around the entire thing, and due to regulations for the plumbing we had to remove the windows, which I was so happy about!! For a long time it was boarded up and our neighbors were probably being very judgmental, but to us it had to wait.

A couple of months ago the process to finish this room started and moved so quickly! We put shiplap on all the walls, put batten board siding on the outside, and an amazing barn wood ceiling was hiding the WHOLE TIME under a piece of siding used as a ceiling! With keeping the pitched ceiling exposed it makes the whole room feel a lot bigger.

For our shiplap we used underlayment for $13.98 a sheet and cut it into 8 inch pieces.

Now for the fun part!! The decorating!! I will link all the things I used below.
